27-28 October 2011 in Sopot within the Polish EU Presidency will hold a "Baltic Sea Seminar, Seminar on Cooperation under the Espoo Convention in the Baltic Sea subregion". During the meeting the Baltic Sea Subregion Countries exchange their experiences, information and good practices regarding the application of the Espoo Convention to any proposed activities that are likely to cause a significant adverse transboundary impact on the environment as well as the application of the SEA Protocol to any plans and programmes which are likely to have significant environmental effects, including health. At the same time those meetings seem to be a great opportunity to strengthen relations and develop a multilateral cooperation between the countries of Baltic Sea subregion as well as improve, develop and promote the application of the Convention in the region.
